My guy, you seem like you want to be openminded but unable. You seem to be looking for a “villain” or person to blame it on other than blacks. Just to be clear, Africans ENSLAVED AFRICANS first and for most and no they did not treat them like their family. Africa is still a Slave continent today and if you want to know how they were treated watch blood diamond. When the African tribes took slaves they slaughtered anyone that could not be used, it was worst than how the whites treated them by far. You don’t know much because most of what you have learned has come from biased eyes be it white eyes or black eyes. Blacks were a valuable commodity to their owners and it was not in their interest to indiscriminately slaughter them the way that Django would have you believe. Now that’s not to say that things were peachy in slave life with a healthcare plan and 401k, some eggs were definitely broken. But it was a better treatment than other blacks from Africa gave them and it’s definitely a better life today for the descendants of the Africans brought to America. Slavery started well before the colonization of the new world and Africans were just as guilty as the rest of the world if not more.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone has recommended it already, but Myles Kennedy, the lead singer, has a couple solo CDs out. Well, he has three and as much of a fan as I am, I haven't listened to the first one. But it predates Alter Bridge and he has two solo albums out after the band formed. One is Year of the Tiger and the other is Ides of March. His sound on those albums are more bluesy rather than the rock sound of Alter Bridge.
